The rich, savory flavor is due to the fact that Pristine Pasture goats are raised on forage and pasture – never in feedlots or crowded conditions. Goat meat does NOT taste like chicken, beef, lamb or venison, but has a flavor between pork and beef. Goat meat is one of the leanest meats available, making it a great choice for the health-conscious consumer. Since the molecular structure of goat meat is different than that of beef or chicken, it is easier to digest. 70% of the world's population is very familiar with goat meat and prefers it to all other red meats. It is only here in our Western culture that we are slow to catch on to what the rest of the world already knew about. It's time we drag more of our friends to a taste test with goat meat!

Shipping & Delivery Facts:
We ship orders Monday through Wednesday. Our liability will not include shipment(s) that are not signed for or left at a different address for pickup. Shipments made during summer months, due to high temperatures, may be delayed or have extra shipping charges, of which you will be notified at check out. Also, if choosing second-day service, some tempering of the frozen product may occur in the extra day of shipping, depending on the weather.
Regular ground shipments for non-frozen products can take 1-5 business days. All orders that include an email address will be sent a tracking number when the product leaves our facility.
Regular ground shipment may be available for frozen products based on the carrier's estimated transit time. Call for details. Shipments inside SC, NC, and GA may be switched to another carrier. This will at times save you money on shipping which will be adjusted at checkout if there is a difference in charges. We strive to bring you the best quality products available. It is of utmost importance to us to maintain a close relationship with our customers. We are reachable Monday-Friday from 11 AM-4:00 PM EST and will work very closely with you in regard to your order.
Our Goat meat is USDA inspected, vacuum-sealed for freshness, then frozen, and shipped in insulated, reusable coolers with gel packs or dry ice. The shipping cost includes reusable, insulated containers and coolants.
Delays
We will contact you if your order is delayed due to inventory levels. Substitution of a higher valued item, a rescheduled delivery date, or a refund will be offered. If your order is delayed due to weather conditions, we will contact you by email or phone and reschedule. We do not ship during extended excessive heat days, severe weather, or winter storms.
We will ship your order on Monday, Tuesday, or occasionally on Wednesday to ensure delivery before the weekend. We use FedEx Second Day or FedEx Home delivery, depending upon your location. Overnight delivery can be provided by request. Contact us for an estimate of the additional cost. Be aware it is usually not possible to ship your order the same day it is received. If you need priority service, please call us and confirm.
Your product is vacuum-sealed and frozen to preserve quality and to provide a wholesome product. Depending on the season and the amount ordered, your products may arrive frozen or slightly thawed. As long as the meat is cool to the touch, you may cook or refreeze with confidence.
Refrigerate or freeze your order upon arrival. Refrigerated vacuum sealed meat products will hold for one week if properly refrigerated at 34 degrees F or lower. Once the vacuum seal is opened, use the product within two to three days. If you will freeze your product, set your freezer as cold as possible–preferably under zero degrees F for the best results. Up to six months is the standard storage time for frozen meats.
For best results, thaw in the sealed packaging overnight in your refrigerator. Leaving the meat in the original packaging during thawing preserves the flavor and natural juices. The meat can also be thawed in the original packaging in cold water. Keep the water cold by changing it every 30 minutes until the meat is thawed. We do not recommend using a microwave to defrost meat.
DOVEY & BEAR DOGFOOD NUTRITION- Essential Nutrients Needed for healthy meals.
Proteins: Body tissues are made of proteins. Your dog’s body makes only 13 of the 23 amino acids that are building blocks of proteins. The other ten have to come from food.
Fats: Fats give your dog energy. They also help keep your dog’s skin and hair healthy. Some important fatty acids for your dog include linoleic acid, Omega-6, and Omega-3. Their body cannot make enough essential fatty acids on their own so they need to eat food that has them.
Carbohydrates: Carbs come from plants. When your dog eats grains and vegetables, they get fibers, sugars, and starches. Carbs power the tissues in your dog’s body and they keep your dog’s intestines in good shape.
Vitamins and minerals: Vitamins and minerals are essential for many of the chemical reactions in your dog’s body to keep them strong and build bones. A complete and “balanced” dogfood like D & B, will supply your dog’s needs of these. D & B uses a proprietary blend that is approved by our veterinary nutritionists.
Explanation of by-products: “Offal” (by-products) consists of lung, heart, kidney, liver, and spleen. Organs if they are harvested correctly and cleanly, can be used and are loaded with dense nutrition. They are abundant in Vitamin A, B, B-12, D, E, K, along with iron, copper, magnesium and phosphorus.
